BLK-Max introduces AI surgical robot and more briefs

Private hospital in Delhi introduces AI-powered surgical robot

BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, a private tertiary healthcare provider in Delhi, has expanded its robotic surgical programme with the addition of an AI-powered robotic system for joint replacement surgeries.

According to a press release, the robotic system imitates the motion patterns of a patient's joint, minimising excessive stress on the muscles, nerves, tendons and sinews.  It helps surgeons in achieving accuracy, alignment, and balance.

The system also enables surgeons to pre-plan an operation by assessing a patient's disease state and predicting their joint stability over a full range of motion to ensure precision and reduce the chances of malalignment of implants.

The AI-powered surgical robotic system adds to BLK Max's two existing Da Vinci Xi robots for surgical procedures across specialties, including liver and kidney transplants.
